ICM Week 9: Pretty as a Picture!

With my Final project more or less confirmed for this class, I can sort of breathe easy with this? But I don’t know, we have a lot to do to get there.

But for now, my focus is on this week’s sketch, focusing on using either the sound or video. (Perhaps both if I’m feeling ambitious– but as of this writing, not feeling that so much.

So out of our little exploration I liked the brightness mirror that used the video. But with luck, I can make it with a twist.  I couldn’t help but to think of pointilism, the art of making images after closely placed dots. Most people are familiar with the artist Georges Seurat, or rather his painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (below):

With any luck I will make it capture an image in color ellipses in a sort of video pointilism! Though failing color, I could get it to work with grayscale ellipse for an equally cool halftone effect– but let’s hope I get color to work!

BONUS: A flub in my coding that made me amused!
